Art Film Research: ‘Forgetful Green’

July 4, 2011

Untitled from Tim Walker on Vimeo.

This short film was premiered at the Frieze Festival in 2010.

It was filmed by Tim Walker for artist Linder Sterling.

I feel it is a beautiful showcasing of both the fashion design and styling of Richard Nicoll as well as the romantic motifs that are common in photographer Tim Walker’s images.

It was a film of spontaneity as they came from a 13-hour improvised performance with the outfits to the oldest rose growing feilds in England, and was infused with exhaustion and ingenuity.

I thought this film was lovely because of the way the models interact with the surroundings, weather and also the costumes; the models characters are based on female archetypes such as The Muse and The Witch.
